[...] Then, I discovered Real Simple. I find that for the most part, this magazine lives up to it’s name and it’s much more my speed. But to this day, if I pick up a Martha Stewart Living, I always head to one particular part of the magazine…the “Good Things” section. I still love that section, even if I have benched Martha from participating in my kitchen adventures (after all, I already have a handicap…). [...]

Hey thanks for the shop mention! It's super fun, I think you should definetly get your tea towels out there. New Moon was better huh? I'm glad to hear it...I may have to convince Tim to go see it. Or my dad. I probably have a much better shot of that :)

So Aimers, I read your "handicap" posting about the truffle experiment (I must have missed it the first time around). Being a master substitutionist in the kitchen myself, I've made that recipe before, but opted for coating the little guys in choco sprinkles rather than melted chocolate. (Who needs a double-boiler... and why should I buy baker's chocolate when I've got sprinkles left over from those cupcakes I made a few years ago?) They turned out fabu and super easy. But as for your great thing #9. Ummm... seriously? Either that photo is not doing your dream bedspread justice or else your taste has rapidly declined since moving to Colorado. Is the thin air affecting your reasoning abilities? Or perhaps you can explain the awesomeness of said bedspread which the photo somehow leaves out?

M,

Glad you got well and are now down in Texas with your sister! Hope you're enjoying scarce purchases at the following stores: Garden Ridge, Marshall's, ... :)

Seriously...I hope you're enjoying your time off with your sister, brother in law and niece! Thanks for the pictures on Facebook (which I still have not logged on to, to review...not because I'm ungrateful, but because I RARELY log on to that animalistic gossip page of a Internet fad).

I love you M! Have a terrrific day!

Hey M,

What is that big hole in the middle of your blog post this week? Is it a picture that isn't loading as a result of our company "Surf Control" or did you leave it in for some sort of subliminal message (...or just hit "Enter" too many times after the word phenominal for emphasis ...I dunno)?

On the QB looks thing...not a big deal...we had horses teeth Elway and won the Super Bowl...twice...with that look. I think Orton looks tough...like Jim Kelly...you know...the old Buffalo Bills QB...who's now completely bald...but that's what happens over time I guess! :)

Love,
Dad

There's still one too many "http"s in the link to Liz's site (at least the one in the body of the blog post - the one Liz included in her comment works just fine) :) But, hey, you don't need to be an HTML whiz for me to totally love reading your blog. You're hilarious. I hope your team stays undefeated (well, both of them actually).

Amy, we gotta work on your link to my site skills. You sent everyone to my front page, which has a pick of you and me. Cute and all, but not the seriously ugly outside that it really was, as depicted in this link: http://www.lizjohnsonbooks.com/?p=1035 :)

And I'm so with you on the cute QB situation. Would it hurt the Bronco organization as a whole? Maybe we should volunteer for the Orton makeover squad. We could only help.

M,

You need to step away from the word "thingy" when you talk to service guys. When you say "thingy", it comes through the "service guy translator" as "here's a sucker...I think I'll try to sell her a "cab air filter" or somethin'.

You and I both know, with the type of stuff you need to filter from being in your car, a dinky "cab air" filter is the least of your problems...I thinkin' you need a "trash filter" on all 4 doors (especially the driver's door) and on your trunk opening in order to strip the garbage out of your hand(s) before donning the sunglasses and putting on the seatbelt :)

Just an FYI...Synthetic Oil only needs to be changed every 5000 miles...not 3000. It's 40% more miles on the road and more time "NOT IN THE SHOP". In other words, paying $24.99 for synthetic is the same as paying $14.99 for regular oil...over time/miles. This is good because it gives you more driving time between oil changes...so good call, M! BTW...Never hesitate calling stuff "thingys" around your dad. He thinks it's cute and he would never take you to the cleaners on unnecessary expenses...you just have to put up with the teasing...which costs you nothing but dignity! :)

ILY,

M,

Subject: Connectivity

Although you reviewed the connectivity between a dog and your blog...which really has no connectivity...

You may want to review the connection between your 2:32am go to bed time, with the grogginess you experience in the morning (LSH Rule #1)...

You may want to review the connection between having a dog who loves to kill spiders... with the ability to sleep soundly when you're trying to do so...knowing Fido will protect you from these types of creatures and others...maybe a dog could be an option????

As my eldest daughter aways says (even in this blog), "I'm just saying"...

Love,
Dad
